The NSW branch organises annual conferences and symposia for chapter representatives. The 2011 conference has been opened up to all members and other interested people as outlined below.

Symposium April 2011

Museums Australia (NSW) invites you to Sydney for the symposium Place, Space,& Identity: New Directions for NSW Museums at Macquarie University 18-19 April 2011.

The symposium will explore new directions and opportunities for museums and galleries in New South Wales, following the publication of the Watts report on Museums and Galleries NSW in 2010 and coinciding with the development of a new strategic plan for visual arts and museum sectors in NSW by Arts NSW in 2011. The regular chapter representatives meeting and branch AGM will be held in conjunction with the symposium. More information

Welcome Reception and Conference Dinner 18 April
The symposium welcome reception will be held in Macquarie University Art Gallery from 5pm-7.30pm on Monday 18 April.

The symposium dinner, a three course meal with beverages and side of objects, will be held at the Macquarie Graduate School of Management at 7.30pm on 18 April. Guests will find interesting and unusual "mystery objects" from the collections of Macquarie University's campus museums on each table. Fabulous prizes will be awarded for the most creative object interpretations delivered to your fellow dinner guests on the evening. It will be a great showcase for the imagination of museum people! The cost of the dinner, including beverages is $100.
