Latest edition 18(1) Sept 09

The Museums Australia Multimedia and Publication Design Awards showcases the breadth of design talent across Australia and beyond. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn about and contribute to the diversity and vibrancy of the cultural sector and to view what is happening in our major and regional cultural institutions.
Entries in the 2009 awards spanned a 2 year period from 1 January 2007 to 31 December 2008. 406 entries were received from 103 national and international organisations. Of these 129 entries were shortlisted and a total of 75 awards were presented across 12 categories.
Entries were judged on their relevance of purpose, communication clarity and degree of usability. Category winners that illustrate design skill, layout structure, quality photography, illustration and typography can be viewed here.

The Awards presentation took place at the Concert Hall, Newcastle City Hall, Newcastle on 18 May 2009 as part of Museums Australia’s National Conference ‘Work in Progress’. Approximately 200 guests were on hand to witness the awards presentation.
This award programme could not continue to succeed without the support of our MAPDA sponsors. The MAPDA committee would like to acknowledge their invaluable support and involvement.
