The 2012 Museum Leadership Program (MLP) will be held at the Macquarie Graduate School of Management, North Ryde, NSW, in October 2012.
MLP is a challenging and intensive 6-day residential program designed to meet the needs of senior museum professionals, with a particular emphasis on nurturing the leadership that will shape the sector in the future.
Led by an outstanding team of international and local experts, the highly interactive program brings a global perspective to the Australian museum industry. Participants focus on strategic planning and management issues relevant to the region.
“The MLP provided an amazing opportunity for professional development at a high level with some of the finest minds in the museums, galleries and corporate fields on strategic issues and planning affecting us all. It equipped me with alternate ways of thinking and with the tools and confidence to move forward in my role as a museum director. The opportunity to network with a group of peers from across Australia in a residential setting was unsurpassed. Highly recommended.” MLP 2009
“The intensive program of the MLP was highly stimulating not only because of the expert presenters, but the strong collegial environment in which we worked and learnt.” MLP 2009
“The opportunity to concentrate on the core business of the museum beyond the office was enormously important and it had the desired effect: [I went] back to work with renewed purpose.” MLP 2009
