Museums Australia National Networks

Museums Australia has 21 National Networks that draw together museum professionals from across the sector to focus attention on and respond to the issues that impact on the presentation, collection and interpretation of their specific interests.

The National Networks cover a range of topics from Art Craft Design through Costume to Sports Heritage as well as encouraging the discussion of specific issues relevant to a range of museums from Maritime Museums to Historic Houses.

In accordance with the Museums Australia Constitution and By-Laws, all members of Museums Australia National Networks must be current members of Museums Australia.

Collections sector discussion lists

Museums Australia has also compiled some email discussion lists covering a range of activities relevant to the collections sector.

Often the only way to find out whether or not a discussion list is suitable for your needs is to subscribe and 'lurk' (read others' postings without replying or emailing a posting of your own) until you get a feel for the type of discussions and information posted to the list.
