Workshop overview

Retirement is a major turning point in life and retirees are often surprised by how much they miss the rewards that work offers. Employment provides an important structure for your time. It can help you feel that you belong and are contributing to something important and purposeful. Upon retirement, the structure of your work-life disappears and your intellectual, emotional and physical energies need to be re-focused.

Start or continue your transition to retirement in this supportive and collegial workshop presented by Museums Galleries Australia ACT branch and facilitated by Gabrielle Leahy of Retire and Flourish. The workshop centres on the Retirement Compass, a validated, peer-reviewed survey instrument that helps you discover what energises and motivates you.

As Gabrielle explains, When we know exactly why we do what we do we can so very easily know what we’re looking for, recognise it and engage with it wholeheartedly. That’s the retirement waiting for all of us to create.

Your individualised Retirement Compass can help you plan for a fulfilling retirement that is tailored to your needs and suited to your preferences. A re-usable tool, it can be consulted repeatedly as circumstances change.

This two-part workshop will be carefully tailored to participants’ needs and individual circumstances. Participants are strongly encouraged to attend both sessions to get maximum value. Attendance at the first workshop is critical.
