Special guest speaker - Christopher Chapman from the National Portrait Gallery.
Christopher Chapman joined the National Portrait Gallery in 2008 and was promoted to Senior Curator in 2011. He works closely with the Gallery’s management team on the exhibition program and on developing the Gallery’s collection. Since the late 1980s Chris has worked with artists, written about art, developed exhibitions and presented talks and lectures on art and social expression. He has worked as a curator at the National Gallery of Australia and the Art Gallery of South Australia and has lectured on art-history at the Australian National University. His PhD looked at images of adolescent masculinity in 20th century photography. Chris is fascinated by the way in which portraiture can validate the diversity of human experience.
