The Director, Perth is responsible for management of the National Archives’ office in Western Australia, including leading a small team responsible for both collection management and public engagement activities. The role oversees management of two facilities including a public research centre / display area, and a storage repository. The Director is also responsible for leading strategic projects that contribute to the care and accessibility of the national archival collection, including maintenance and infrastructure contracts and projects.
The position requires proven leadership capability and a strong strategic focus, the capacity to build and sustain positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, and the ability to identify priorities, pursue innovative approaches and achieve results. A strong background in archival control and project management will be an advantage.
A key focus is change management and ensuring staff participate in the digital transformation of systems, business processes and services.
Eligibility: Applicants must be Australian citizens and be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance to Negative Vetting Level 1.
